Why do I need a coach?

In the military, we are trained to figure it out ourselves and not to need any help. Coaching isn’t “help.” Coaching is for people who have a limited amount of time to climb a very steep learning curve. Coaching gives you the inside scoop. Coaching keeps you accountable and confident.

Is coaching a lot of talk about feelings?

Who is Jacey Eckhart?

Jacey Eckhart is a Certified Professional Career Coach known for her ability to connect insightfully with transitioning military clients and teach them how to overcome invisible barriers to employment. Trained as a military sociologist, her professional focus is on veteran employment, spouse employment and long military marriage. She has more than 20 years of experience designing workshops for active duty members, reservists, and the National Guard, including Navy SEALS, Army Delta Force and all their wonderful families.  

Jacey’s first professional love is the military.  She got her start as a military columnist for the Virginian Pilot. She is the author of The Next Door Project, The Homefront Club, and Signature Strengths of Military Families as well as a contributor to other military books including Stories Around the Table. 

 Eckhart has been featured as a military family subject matter expert by The New York Times, NBC Dateline, CBS Morning News, CNN, NPR, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, Woman’s Day Magazine and many others. She is a member of the American Sociological Association and holds a certificate in coaching from the American Society for Training and Development.
